HOLLYWOOD - Authorities have found the wreckage of two small planes that crashed near the Everglades, killing all three people on board.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the planes departed Saturday afternoon from Ft. Lauderdale and Hollywood airports and were not under air traffic control. Family members reported them missing and local authorities found the wreckage Sunday morning.
One plane was a Piper model with one person on board. The other was a Cessna 172 with two people on board. Authorities have not identified the victims.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
