HUDSON - It's not clear why the 36-year-old man jumped out of his car and went after the 71-year-old driver on Little Road but the elder man was sent to a hospital and the younger man was sent to jail Sunday morning.
Gabriel Hand and the senior citizen were driving their respective cars south on Little Road near Seeley Road when he stopped his vehicle and yelled at the older man, opened his car door and punched him in the face several times, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report.
Hand yanked the other man's keys out of the ignition and threw them in the street and fled the scene until he noticed a witness was watching him and he returned, according to the report.
Several witnesses, in fact, told deputies what happened.
The older man was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. His condition wasn't clear Monday.
Hand, of 3272 Bluestone Ave., Spring Hill, was arrested on charges of battery on a person 65 or older and burglary with battery. He was being held at the Land O' Lakes Jail today with bail set at $155,000.
