David Hernandez struck a person with a baseball bat, causing cuts to the right eye and upper lip, Tampa police say.
The attack was Oct. 19. Police arrested him Sunday morning.
When officers came to his home, 103 E. Kentucky Ave. in Tampa, they knocked on his door and said they were police. Hernandez saw them and refused to open his door, a criminal arrest affidavit states.
Hernandez, 33, later refused to put his hands behind his back and resisted police commands, according to the affidavit.
Hernandez was charged with aggravated battery and resisting arrest without violence.
His bail was set at $8,000. He has since been released from jail.
