Two Tampa residents used a tire iron Monday night to attack a person, Hillsborough County deputies say.
About 11:37 p.m. Monday, Angela Frusciente and another person were walking together near 142nd Avenue and 12th Street.
Daniel Rivera confronted the other person, striking the victim several times using a tire iron and fists and causing cuts and bruises to the head, his criminal arrest affidavit states. Rivera also bit the person over the right eye, causing a cut.
Frusciente struck the victim with a broom and tire iron, according to her arrest affidavit. Investigators say they later found marijuana belonging to Frusciente.
The arrest affidavits don't say why Frusciente and Rivera would attack the person.
Frusciente and Rivera were charged with aggravated battery. She also was charged with possession of marijuana and failure to appear in court.
They remained in Orient Road Jail today. Frusciente's bail had not been set; Rivera's bail was set at $7,500.
