BRADENTON - Three Bradenton teens were arrested Tuesday morning, accused of beating a classmate with broomsticks, a metal pipe and a door off its hinges, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
The victim told deputies the three teens accosted him before he arrived for class at Southeast High School in Bradenton, the sheriff's office said. The victim, whose name was not released by the agency, told deputies he was friends with his attackers but they were upset with him.
Deputies say the teens pushed and struck the victim, then forced him to walk off-campus to a vacant house on 11th Street Court East, where he was beaten with the broomsticks, pipe and door. The victim told deputies he was forced to strip naked and stand in a shower where he was again beaten.
The victim told deputies he managed to get out of the house through a window. The boy ran to a house at 32nd Avenue East in Bradenton, where the resident called authorities, the sheriff's office said.
The victim had a bloody lip and swelling to his eyes and face, deputies say.
The sheriff's office did not release the name of the assailants. They were charged with kidnapping, burglary and aggravated battery.
