Motorcycle Crash Kills Palmetto Man

The driver of a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle died Tuesday following a crash in Manatee County.

Salvador Jimenez, 45, of Palmetto, died about 5:32 p.m. after being flown to Bayfront Medical Center.

The crash occurred about 12:17 p.m. when a 2006 Hummer driven by 80-year-old Thomas M. Bower of Bradenton turned into the motorcycle's path at 33rd St. E. and 59th Ave. E., according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release. Bower wasn't injured.

No charges have been filed at this time, according to the release.
