TAMPA - University of South Florida DE George Selvie, LB Tyrone McKenzie and SS Carlton Williams were named to the media's second annual All-Big East football team.

Cincinnati's Brian Kelly was a unanimous choice for Coach of the Year, while Pittsburgh RB LeSean McCoy and LB Scott McKillop were the offensive and defensive players of the year.

The Bearcats, who won the league title under Kelly, dominated the media's All-Big East team with eight players selected. The 25-player team was selected by eight media members, one that covers each team. The team was compiled by The Tampa Tribune.

There were eight unanimous selections: McCoy, McKillop, Rutgers WR Kenny Britt, Louisville C Eric Wood, UConn RB Donald Brown, Cincinnati DE Conner Barwin, Cincinnati CB Mike Mickens and Cincinnati return specialist Mardy Gilyard.

Each team except Syracuse was represented on the 25-player team. Cincinnati led the way with eight selections, followed by Pittsburgh and West Virginia with four each, Rutgers and USF three each, UConn two and Louisville one.

West Virginia had a league-high three offensive players, while the Bearcats had a league-best four defensive players selected. Selvie was one of eight players named to the media's All-Big East team for a second consecutive season.

Besides the all-league teams, the media also voted on several miscellaneous categories. USF earned five of eight votes as the league's most disappointing team, and Jim Leavitt got seven of eight votes in being named the Big East's worst head coach interview for a second consecutive season.

The coaches' All-Big East team is expected to be released by the league office today.

ODDS AND ENDS: USF's football banquet is Saturday at the downtown Hyatt. Tickets are $60, but must be purchased by Friday and will not be available at the door. Reed, who was cut after playing five games with the Philadelphia Eagles this season, signed Tuesday with the New York Jets, said Jonathan Kline, Reed's agent. ... The St. Petersburg Bowl was rated as the fourth-worst bowl matchup by ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach. With USF a 13-point favorite against Memphis, the game is the second-most lopsided of the bowl season. Only the Alamo Bowl, in which Missouri is a 131/2-point favorite against Northwestern, has a bigger point spread. ... Leavitt, who voted in the USA Today/coaches poll, voted Oklahoma No. 1, followed by Florida and Texas in this week's ballot. ... USF is making its fourth consecutive bowl berth, tied for the Big East's second-longest active streak. However, since joining the Big East four years ago, USF and Syracuse are the league's only teams that have not finished first or second.
