NEW YORK - Five good minutes from Stephen Curry were enough to get No. 23 Davidson a 68-65 victory over West Virginia on Tuesday night in the Jimmy V Classic.

The nation's leading scorer managed to make one of his first 13 3-point attempts before taking over the end of the game, scoring 13 of the Wildcats' last 15 points.

Curry, a preseason All-American, made his final three shots from behind the arc. The last of those three 3s gave the Wildcats (7-1) the lead for good at 64-62 with 39 seconds to play.

He finished with 27 points, 4.3 below his average, on 9-of-27 shooting, including 4-for-16 from 3-point range.

Da'Sean Butler had a career-high 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for West Virginia (6-2).

MUNCIE, Ind. - Robbie Hummel scored 15 points as No. 14 Purdue defeated Ball State.

JaJuan Johnson scored 12 points and E'Twaun Moore and Nemanja Calasan added 10 for the Boilermakers (7-2).

Anthony Newell led Ball State (4-4) with 11 points and eight rebounds.

FLORIDA: Gators forward Adam Allen, who has been sidelined the last six weeks because of a sprained left knee, might not play again this season. Allen plans to test his knee in a few weeks, but Coach Billy Donovan said the 6-foot-8 sophomore is considering taking a medical redshirt this season.

Allen averaged 4.0 points as a freshman, but he was expected to play a more significant role this year. He sprained his medial collateral ligament in practice Oct. 24.
