USF's McKenzie, Selvie On Coaches' All-Big East 1st Team

TAMPA - University of South Florida senior linebacker Tyrone McKenzie and defensive end George Selvie were named to the coaches' All-Big East first-team defense, the league announced Wednesday.

McKenzie was one of only six unanimous selections on the team. McKenzie and Selvie were both named to the media's All-Big East team on Monday.

Four USF players were named to the coaches All-Big East second-team: senior tackle Marc Dile, senior guard Matt Huners, senior tight end Cedric Hill and senior safety Carlton Williams.

The coaches and media agreed on all but one of the major honors. Both picked Cincinnati's Brian Kelly as coach of the year, Pittsburgh linebacker Scott McKillop as defensive player of the year and Cincinnati's Mardy Gilyard as returner specialist of the year.

The coaches picked UConn running back Donald Brown as offensive player of the year, while the media selected Pittsburgh running back LeSean McCoy.
