Clearwater firefighters battled a mobile home fire that send one man to the hospital on Thursday.
Thomas Karns, a 42-year-old man who was having trouble breathing, has been taken to Morton Plant Hospital.
A call at 6:01 a.m. alerted crews to a blaze at New Ranch Mobile Home Park, 2291 Gulf to Bay Blvd., Lot 220. The fire was under control at 6:31 a.m.
The fire was limited to one unit. The mobile home there was ruined, Pinellas County deputies say.
It is under investigation by Pinellas County deputies and the state fire marshal's office.
Another fire at this mobile home park occurred Dec. 2, but detectives say there is no indication the two fires are related.
In the Dec. 2 blaze, two people suffered nonlife-threatening injuries. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the pair were outside when firefighters arrived at the burning unit, No. 311.
Deputies were responding to a noise complaint involving the mobile home and saw flames coming out of the windows, authorities said.
