The "people's governor" and his fiancee are keeping the details of their wedding tonight pretty private. Still, intrepid reporters across the state have managed to squeeze out a few nuptialicious nuggets. Here's what we know:
•Carole Lynn Rome and Gov. Charles Joseph Crist Jr. have requested the presence of 200 or so friends and family members at their black-tie optional wedding.
•The traditional ceremony, which is to begin at 7 p.m. and last less than an hour, will be at the historic First United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg. A reception will follow at the nearby Renaissance Vinoy Resort.
•Rome, 39, plans to change her name to Carole Crist.
•She will enter the church to "Trumpet Voluntary" by Henry Purcell.
•The bride will wear a traditional floor-length Dupioni silk gown by an as-yet-unnamed Spanish designer. It has been described as figure-flattering with a ruched bodice and a bit of sparkle. She chose a train-length veil that can be worn either over or off her face. She will accessorize with items from her mother.
•Rome's sister, Michelle Oumano, will serve as maid of honor. Her daughters, Skylar, 10, and Jessica, 12, will be junior bridesmaids. Crist's sisters also will be in the bridal party.
•Crist, 52, chose his father, physician Charles Crist Sr. of St. Petersburg, as his best man. His brothers-in-law will serve as groomsmen.
•The bride's wedding band is 18-karat white gold and has 60 pave diamonds in three rows. The governor's ring is a plain yellow band. The rings were designed by Hien Nguyen of the Gold & Diamond Center in St. Petersburg. He also designed Rome's sapphire-and-diamond engagement ring.
•The flowers for the wedding and reception were designed by Ian Prosser's Botanica International Design Studio in Tampa. He describes them as classic with a soft color palette.
•Invitations, programs, menus and place cards were designed by Amy Willoughby and Britta Spanke of Not From a Box in St. Petersburg.
•This is the second marriage for both Rome and Crist.
•Crist will be the third Florida governor to marry while in office. The last was Claude Kirk, who married Erika Mattfeld in 1967.
•The couple will honeymoon somewhere in Southwest Florida.
