Gibsonton Man Dead After Crash On I-75

A 59-year-old Gibsonton man died Thursday afternoon after his car veered off southbound Interstate 75, went down an embankment and crashed into a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The man, who was not identified pending the notification of his relatives, was not wearing a seatbelt, the highway patrol said.
The crash happened at 5:37 p.m. near mile marker 251, north of Gibsonton Drive. The driver of the 1995 Toyota Camry died at the scene, troopers say.
The crash is under investigation.
