NEW PORT RICHEY - A full weekend of holiday activities will include the annual Christmas street parade Saturday night.
The 32nd annual Downtown New Port Richey Holiday Parade will start at about 7 p.m.
The parade is hosted by the Holiday Rotary Club and the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce.
After the parade, a free concert will take place at Sims Park, 6341 Bank St., with the Dixie Highway Band featuring John Wayne Wilkinson.
It's all part of Main Street Holidays with activities Friday night through Sunday. The New Port Richey Main Street organization coordinates the events.
Friday evening events include horse-drawn carriage rides and tractor-pulled hay rides around Orange Lake. Carnival rides and a midway will start.
Saturday will bring an Arts and Crafts Village, live music on the main stage and boat and kayak tours of the Pithlachascotee River. People can get pictures taken with Santa at the chamber office from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Merchants will have sales as part of Shop 'N' Stroll.
Sunday morning will feature breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 9 to 11 a.m. at Sims Park, the Arts and Craft Village, boat tours, children's activities and live holiday music on stage.
People may drop off contributions for Operation Shoebox for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan throughout the weekend at Life Point Church on River Road.
