LAKE BUENA VISTA - Florida junior quarterback Tim Tebow captured his second straight Maxwell Award for the best all-around college football player, and received the Disney Spirit Award (most inspirational story) during the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards on Thursday night on ESPN.
The 2008 Heisman Trophy finalist joined Notre Dame's John Lattner (1952-53) as the only repeat Maxwell winner since it began in 1937.
Florida State senior Graham Gano was awarded the nation's top honor for a place-kicker when he won the Lou Groza Award.
The senior from Pensacola leads the nation in field goals. No kicker in America converted more attempts from 50 yards than Gano, and he converted 24 of 26 overall.
Among other winners:
•Texas quarterback Colt McCoy was recognized as the Walter Camp Player of the Year.
•Oklahoma sophomore Sam Bradford received the Davey O'Brien Award for best quarterback.
•Florida State coach Bobby Bowden was given the NCFAA Contributions to College Football Award.
