Tampa Man Shot By Home Invader

TAMPA - A 50-year-old Tampa man remains hospitalized after being shot in his bedroom.
Police said three or four suspects broke into a home on the 2700 block of 19th Avenue E. at about 2:55 a.m. today and started shooting. A man, whose name is not being released by The Tampa Tribune because his assailants have not been apprehended, was shot once in the chest.
Police are unsure how the suspects fled the scene. Tracking dogs were called in but were unable to pick up a scent.
The man was taken to Tampa General Hospital. Police said his injuries weren't life threatening. Hospital officials wouldn't comment.
