Motorcyclist Killed In Sarasota

Sarasota - A 72-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he ran a red light and collided with a truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
John D. Sunquist was riding a 1986 Honda MTC westbound on State Road 72 about 1 p.m. Friday when he pulled in front of a 1993 Mack as it tried to turn onto an Interstate 75 ramp, the patrol said. The North Port man, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene.
The Mack's driver, Henry D. Lumpkin, 46, of Land O' Lakes was not injured.
