A 23-year-old woman died in a hospital Saturday night from injuries she received in a single-car wreck early that morning on Interstate 75 in Sarasota County.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Crystal Larenz of Englewood died about 9:40 p.m. Saturday at Bayfront Medical Center.
She was a passenger in 2004 Nissan Maxima driven by Daniel Duduka, 24, of North Port, who was seriously injured, the FHP said.
Duduka was driving on the southbound entrance ramp of I-75 at State Road 780 when he lost control on the ramp's curve about 1:46 a.m. Saturday, the accident report said.
The car spun off the pavement and split in half when it struck a tree, the FHP said.
Another passenger, Robert Cabell of Englewood, received minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital. Duduka was taken to Doctors Hospital. All three people involved were wearing seatbelts, the FHP said.
The accident remains under investigation.
