Two men were killed in separate accidents on Saturday in Pasco County.
One of the accidents also left two men with serious injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The first occurred at 6:30 a.m. on Blanton Road when a 2005 Dodge van driven by William Wassmer, 46, of Florida City, was heading east on Blanton Road. He had just passed the intersection with Country Squire Lane when he drifted into the westbound lane, the highway patrol said.
His van struck a 2005 Ford pick-up driven by Roberto Rojas, 32, of Dade City, the accident report said.
Wassmer died at the scene, the FHP said.
Rojas and Gonsalva Sansito, 40, also of Dade City, received what the FHP described as serious injuries and were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.
The accident is under investigation. Wassmer was not wearing a seatbelt. Rojas and Sansito were wearing seatbelts, the report said.
In the second accident at 5:53 p.m., Samuel McClain, 73, of New Port Richey was driving west on Mitchell Boulevard about a half mile east of Davenport Drive when he lost control of his 1999 Mercedes Benz sport utility vehicle, the FHP said.
McClain's car drove off the road and hit several trees. He was not wearing a seatbelt, the accident report said.
Alcohol was not a factor, the report said.
