Red Cross Helps Families Relocate After Apartment Fire

Hillsborough County firefighters contained the three-alarm fire shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday at 9474 Windermere Lake Drive near Riverview.

Eighteen families are temporarily staying at a local hotel and two other families are staying with friends and family following a fire this weekend at the Windermere Lakes Apartment complex.
The 40 adults and 19 children at the hotel were helped by the American Red Cross, which also gave them funds to buy groceries and some replacement clothing, Red Cross spokeswoman Abi Weaver said today.

The complex's residents weren't injured in the fire.
