ST. PETERSBURG - Police are investigating three drive-by shootings over the weekend that one victim believes might be related to a fight at a high school football game.
One woman's home was shot at twice within three hours, St. Petersburg police spokesman George Kajtsa said.
No one was injured in any of the shootings, which police believe are related.
The first shooting occurred about 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 2400 block of 12th Avenue South in the Jordan Park public housing complex, Kajtsa said. A 40-year-old woman was at her computer in her living room when she heard what sounded like gunfire, then glass breaking.
She dropped to the floor, told everyone to get down and called police. An unoccupied vehicle outside the town house also was shot at.
About 10:22 p.m. Friday, there was a drive-by shooting in the 1800 block of 21st Street South, Kajtsa said. A 36-year-old woman was lying on her sofa when she heard three or four gunshots; two bullet holes were found in windows.
The woman told police she believed the incident was related to an ongoing feud that began with a fight at a football game at Lakewood High School in September, Kajtsa said.
At 12:15 a.m. Saturday, the woman in the 12th Avenue South shooting was awakened by a loud bang, Kajtsa said. Police found a bullet hole in her front door and three bullet holes in a vehicle outside.
