CLEARWATER - Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office do not think a Clearwater house fire is suspicious, but the investigation is continuing.
The fire started in the living room and kitchen area of the home at 1215 Palm St. about 10:40 p.m. Monday, detectives said. Firefighters found the homeowner, 60-year-old Louis McClenning, outside and suffering from burns. He was taken by ambulance to Tampa General Hospital, Clearwater public safety spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said in a statement. His condition has not been released.
A firefighter became overheated and was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, Watts said.
"I am told she is doing OK," Watts said.
Detectives said the fire caused about $50,000 worth of damage. They have not determined how the blaze began.
