A three-alarm fire at a Safety Harbor condominium complex Tuesday night has displaced at least eight residents and damaged four units, authorities say.
No injuries were reported.
More than 30 fire rescue units from Safety Harbor, Dunedin, Clearwater and other agencies responded to the blaze at Sandal Cove Condominiums, 1005 Bayshore Blvd., Safety Harbor, about 8:30 p.m. and saw two upstairs condos heavily involved in flames.
The fire appears to have started in one of the second-floor condominiums, authorities say.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, a resident of Unit No. 203 noticed smoke coming from a ceiling fan, then flames. The resident could not extinguish the fire, got out of the building and called 911, authorities say.
The flames spread through the attic and upper floors of the condo building, deputies say. Two condos on the first floor were damaged by water and smoke, authorities say.
The Safety Harbor Fire Department's investigation continues.
