Cowboys' Stadium Builder To Enlarge Channelside Garage

TAMPA - Manhattan Construction Co., which is building the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium in Arlington, Texas, and has a regional office in Tampa, was selected today to negotiate with the Tampa Port Authority for a contract to expand the Channelside Parking Garage by 700 spaces.
The garage has 2,500 spaces.
The amount and terms of the contract will be negotiated and brought to the port authority board for approval.
Port authority staff previously estimated construction would cost about $7 million and the project would take a year.
The board today also approved an $8.3 million contract with John Carlo Inc. of Tampa for a 14.5-acre expansion of the port's container cargo facility.
