We weren't shooting for any particular theme in this week's Baylife Magazine, but we got one anyway — sort of.
Our food columnists both wrote about setting a high bar for themselves at the holidays.
Jaden Hair is delighted she doesn't have to organize and execute the perfect meal for a change — instead, a friend is hosting their Christmukkah celebration this year. Still, our "Steamy" columnist has vowed to be the perfect guest — or the hottest one, anyway — so there's a delightfully deliberate plan in place to make it so.
The Culinary Sherpas, Greg and Michelle Baker, aim only to keep their customers happy, so they say yes first and ask questions later. It's a course that takes chutzpah and talent, and they have plenty of both, thank goodness.
As do our readers. We had high expectations, as always, for our annual Mrs. Harvey's White Fruitcake Haiku Contest, and you didn't fail us. Your poems were terse, diverse and delightfully nutty as … well, you know.
May your holidays be as perfect as possible.
