Investigators say a fire that displaced more than 59 people last weekend wasn't deliberately set, but they were unable to determine the cause of the blaze.
Forty adults and 19 children were helped by the American Red Cross following the fire at the Windermere Lakes Apartment complex. Two other families had planned to stay with friends and family.
Hillsborough County firefighters contained the three-alarm fire shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday at 9474 Windermere Lake Drive near Riverview.
The complex's residents weren't injured in the fire.
The blaze likely started in an attic area above a third-floor apartment, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. Most of the fire damage was contained to the roof and third-floor apartments, but the water needed to fight the fire caused water damage to units below the blaze.
