Internet Explorer Vulnerable To Hackers
Users of all current versions of Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Explorer browser might be vulnerable to having their computers hijacked because of a serious security hole in the software that had yet to be fixed Monday.
Antivirus software maker Trend Micro said as many as 10,000 sites have been compromised since last week. Microsoft said it is investigating and considering a patch, but many security experts are urging Internet Explorer users to use another browser until a patch is released.
Hasbro Drops Scrabulous Lawsuit
Hasbro has dropped its lawsuit against the makers of a version of board game Scrabble that was highly popular on Facebook. The company sued Jayant and Rajat Agarwalla, brothers from Calcutta, India, this summer for their unauthorized version, called Scrabulous. The court documents did not specify a reason for the withdrawal of the case.
National Lampoon Officials Charged
Federal prosecutors in Philadelphia have filed charges against the CEO and other executives at National Lampoon Inc., saying they tried to inflate the company's stock price.
Los Angeles-based National Lampoon owns the rights to the "Vacation" and "Animal House" movies, among others. Prosecutors charged seven people with conspiracy and securities fraud on Monday.
