NEW PORT RICHEY - The second of three people charged in the beating March 1 of two teenagers pleaded guilty today.

Sean Paul Broderick, 18, of Port Richey, was sentenced to two years of house arrest and four years of probation, to be served consecutively, after pleading guilty to armed burglary. He was sentenced as a youthful offender.

Two other boys, Christopher Cutugno and Spencer Clayton, were accused of breaking into the home of Joshua Sayers and beating him and his girlfriend, Jordan Rennie, with a bat. Authorities said Broderick drove them to and from Sayer's house on Collage Lane in Port Richey.

Rennie, then 16, had a shattered eye socket, a crushed cheekbone and a broken nose and jaw. Sayers, then 17, had a hand broken.

Cutugno, 18, of New Port Richey, pleaded no contest last week to aggravated battery and armed burglary and will be sentenced Friday. He is being sentenced as a youthful offender, meaning he faces a maximum of six years in prison. If sentenced as an adult, he could have faced a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Clayton, 18, of Hudson, is charged with aggravated battery and armed burglary. His case is pending.
