TAMPA - An argument among neighbors turned violent Tuesday when several people attacked a man with a brick and bottles, Tampa police said.
Police arrested four people accused of being involved in the fight, which began about 7:20 p.m. in the 4800 block of East 10th Avenue.
According to police, the victim, James House, 45, got into an argument with Edwin Alvarez, 18, while Alvarez was sitting on the porch. The dispute escalated into Alvarez and three other people punching House, police said.
Alvarez threw a brick at House but missed, police said. As House tried to escape by running indoors, he was hit with a thrown beer bottle, police said. Another bottle sailed through the open front door of House's apartment, and a brick crashed through his vehicle's front windshield, police said.
House suffered minor injuries, police said.
Police charged Alvarez with misdemeanor battery and these felony offenses: throwing a deadly missile at an occupied dwelling, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was held at the Orient Road Jail today on $25,000 bail.
Francisca Delatorres, 25, was charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor battery. She was held at the Orient Road Jail today on $2,500 bail.
Jami Alton Smith, 40, was charged with misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor obstructing an officer without violence. He was held at the Orient Road Jail today on $1,000 bail.
Francisco Carmona, 19, was charged with misdemeanor battery and held at the Orient Road Jail today on $500 bail.
