BOYNTON BEACH - Nine girls from a South Florida middle school are charged with resisting arrest after they allegedly refused to talk to police about a fight on a school bus.
The bus driver called Boynton Beach police to break up the fight Tuesday afternoon. When officers tried to interview the students, police say some refused to tell them what happened or give their names.
Nine girls from Congress Middle School have been charged with resisting arrest without violence. The girls range in age from 12 to 15 years old.
Palm Beach County School District spokesman Nat Harrington said Wednesday that police had yet to release more information about the arrests.
Harrington says students who cause or participate in disruptions on school buses generally are barred from school district transportation.
