TAMPA - It'll be Mike Alstott versus Snoop Dogg for the other big trophy on Super Bowl weekend.
On Jan. 31, the former Buccaneers fullback will coach the Tampa Bay All Stars against Snoop's Los Angeles youth football team at "Snoop Bowl VII," a game that raises thousands of dollars for charitable causes.
Last year, Snoop's pups rolled over Matt Leinart's Arizona All Stars 33-14 in a game that annually pits the rapper's team against a team from the Super Bowl host city.
The game has raised more than $50,000 in the past six years.
"This is a great opportunity," Alstott said in a news release. "This gives us a chance to work with young kids, help develop their skills and show them how much we care for them. Getting to coach against Snoop will be really fun, and in the end we're going to raise a bunch of money for charity."
There will be plenty of star power on the sidelines. Also committed to participate as coaches are Michael Clayton, Greg White and Kevin Carter of the Bucs; Andra Davis of the Cleveland Browns; Raheem Brock of the Indianapolis Colts; Max Starks of the Pittsburgh Steelers; Bryant McKinnie and Jared Allen of the Minnesota Vikings; and Andre Johnson and Travis Johnson of the Houston Texans.
"Anything I do is a celebrity event," Snoop said in the news release. "It's a football weekend; why not watch a bunch of future NFL stars come out and play?"
The game will be at 1 p.m. at Gaither High School, 16200 N. Dale Mabry Highway. Ticket information will be available soon.
