Ruth Eckerd Hall A Nominee For Top Honor

TAMPA - Concert industry publication Pollstar has nominated Ruth Eckerd Hall for 2008 Theatre of the Year.
The Clearwater venue shares the nod with Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, New York City's Beacon Theatre and Radio City Music Hall, the Chicago Theatre, the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and Atlanta's Fox Theatre.
"To be in this elite group is quite an accomplishment," the hall's president and chief executive officer, Robert Friedman, said in a news release.
The Pollstar Concert Industry Awards nominees are chosen by a group of 200 concert-industry executives. The awards ceremony will take place during the Concert Industry Consortium conference Jan. 28 to 30 in Los Angeles.
"This is an extremely important honor as it's recognition by our industry peers from artists, agents, artists' managers and other tour personnel," Friedman said.
