A Tampa General Hospital nurse is accused of taking blank prescriptions and using them to get oxycodone from several local pharmacies.
Jennifer Anne Svec, 26, used the prescription pads to obtain "trafficking amounts'' of oxycodone, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. When arrested at the hospital today, Svec had a straw and scalpel; sheriff's officials said. She told detectives she used them to crush and ingest the oxycodone.
Svec, of 1108 Stone Branch Drive, Riverview, was charged with two counts each of trafficking in Oxycodone, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, attempting to obtain a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
