Meals on Wheels caters to older, disabled and homebound people. For a "normal cost," the volunteers bring a hot, delicious and ample meal to your door. They take time to stop and chat before their next stop. The combination of food and friendliness is a welcomed joy.
I'd like to give credit to a particular volunteer driver who went "above and beyond" duty when my husband was in the hospital.
I canceled our Friday and weekend orders, leaving my "fridge" rather bare. But like an answer to a prayer, on Saturday morning here comes this lovely volunteer, who noticed my cancellations and took it upon herself to carry the Friday and weekend orders to her freezer, giving up time on her Saturday to deliver them to me.
To me, that extra effort was an act of love. We truly feel blessed and want to take this time to wish Meals on Wheels a Merry Christmas and express our gratefulness for all of its efforts.
