King senior running back/defensive back Donovan Celerin has verbally committed to Harvard.
Celerin made his decision after visiting the campus in Cambridge, Mass., over the weekend. He chose the Crimson over fellow Ivy League programs Princeton and Yale.
"I felt like Harvard was the best option for me, both academically and athletically," Celerin said. "Academically, I don't think I need to sell it too much. They have probably the best school in the world. Athletically, they win Ivy League championships, and I felt real good with the coaching staff and all of the players when I was up there this past weekend. I really felt like I fit, and I just felt in my heart that that was the right school for me."
As accomplished as Celerin has been on the football field as a two-way starter for the Lions (he was a second-team All-Western Conference pick this season), he has been the same in the classroom. Celerin carries a 5.9 GPA and is a member of both the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.
