SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Even after another milestone victory, Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim wasn't happy with the way his No. 11 Orange are performing.
"I just don't think we're playing well. I don't think we've played well all year," Boeheim said Wednesday night after career victory No. 781, an 82-60 win over Canisius. It moved Boeheim into ninth place all-time in Division I, one win ahead of Lute Olson. "In stretches of games, yeah, we've closed some games well. But I just don't think we're playing that well, even in the second half. We've played poorly in the second half, too."
Not this night.
Reserve Rick Jackson scored a career-high 14 points and Paul Harris added 13 points and 11 rebounds as Syracuse (10-1) rebounded from its first loss of the season.
Still, the Orange seemed to be thinking about Cedric Jackson's buzzer-beating shot from beyond halfcourt that gave Cleveland State a 72-69 victory Monday night. The Golden Griffins certainly were. They watched a replay of the game on the trip from Buffalo.
"It gave us a sense that if we could get the game within striking distance we'll have a chance to win," Canisius coach Tom Parrotta said. "I wholeheartedly believed that when I came in here tonight and my team did, too."
But after yet another sluggish start, Syracuse settled down and handed Canisius (3-7) its fourth straight loss.
"Obviously, when you lose that first game, it's always awkward," Boeheim said. "It takes something out of you."

DURHAM, N.C. - Gerald Henderson and Kyle Singler both scored 14 points after being benched at the start of No. 6 Duke's rout of North Carolina-Asheville.
Jon Scheyer added 13 points for the Blue Devils (9-1), who juggled the lineup after they were upset 11 days earlier at Michigan. Coach Mike Krzyzewski benched his regular starting lineup in favor of five players who had combined to make one start this season.
NO. 17 OHIO STATE 81
JACKSONVILLE 68
COLUMBUS, Ohio - David Lighty had 21 points to lead No. 17 Ohio State to victory over Jacksonville.
Ohio State (7-0) led by 19 points early in the second half only to see the lead cut to five with 5 minutes left. Jon Diebler hit his third 3-pointer for the Buckeyes, and the Dolphins (2-6) never got closer.

THE CITADEL 65
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Raymar Morgan had 26 points and 10 rebounds and No. 19 Michigan State (7-2) survived a 3-point barrage in a victory over The Citadel (5-6).
Morgan was 6-for-6 from the field in the first half and 11-for-12 overall for the Spartans, who led 37-19.

Dozier missed only one of his four shots from the field and was 9 of 12 from the line as the Tigers rebounded from a 79-70 overtime loss at Georgetown on Saturday.
