Reginene Hall Legette pleaded not guilty today to scuffling with deputies and a parent at Westchase Elementary School in September.
A written plea for Legette was entered at an arraignment before Hillsborough County Circuit Judge Robert Foster. Legette did not attend the hearing.
Legette, 42, is charged with two felony counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and other misdemeanors from a lunch hall brawl at the school Sept. 29.
Authorities said Legette was drunk when she entered the school. They said she confronted and punched another mother several times in the face in front of students. She also is accused of jabbing a deputy in the chest and pushing another when they tried to remove her from the school. They say she yelled profanities while being led away in handcuffs.
Ralph Fernandez, Leggette's attorney, said his client was defending herself after someone uttered a racial slur.
Leggette is the wife of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Tyrone Legette.
Foster scheduled a status conference for Jan. 12.
