Hillsborough Deputies Arrest Man In String Of Robberies

TAMPA - Hillsborough County deputies have arrested a Tampa man they say robbed four Hillsborough County businesses this year.

They are continuing to search for a second suspect they say robbed a store with him.

Santos Baro, 22, of 7910 N. Manhattan Ave., was arrested 10:35 a.m. today at his home.

In each incident, deputies say, he was armed with a knife when he took money from a clerk.

According to a sheriff's office news release:

On March 16, Baro took money from a 7-Eleven at 5001 Memorial Highway

On April 19, he stole from a CVS, 7351 W. Hillsborough Ave,

On April 20, he stole from a Circle K, 6422 Benjamin Road

On Thursday, he and another person had knives with them when they stole cash and cigarettes from a gas station at 6507 W. Hillsborough Ave.

Deputies say Baro's accomplice may go by the name "Chewy" or "Chew Chew."
