HUDSON - The mood was delightful inside the cafeteria of Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point for the annual holiday gift basket distribution last week.
Steve Rector, the hospital's chief executive officer, joined scores of workers in sorting through all the presents and food.
About 80 families in need in west Pasco will have happy holidays as a result, said the Rev. Jack Long, the pastor at the hospital.
"It all comes from their hearts," Long said about the hospital employees who donated all the presents and food.
The selected families also will get gift cards for a turkey at a local supermarket.
Six schools and social agencies referred the families, who will get a boost at Christmas from the annual program.
Regional Medical Center employees borrowed gurneys and other carts to wheel all the presents into the cafeteria.
