The Pinellas County sheriff's detectives want help identifying a man they say was seen in Louisiana with Bay area slaying suspect Ryan Cataneo.
Authorities have issued a first-degree murder warrant for Cataneo in the death of his wife, Deana, 39, whose body was found in their Belleair home in November.
Ryan Cataneo, 40, was spotted in Marrero, La., on Nov. 25, authorities say. After news outlets in Louisiana reported the sighting, a tipster there reported that Cataneo was still in the state, according to a news release from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators say they spotted Cataneo in surveillance photos from a gas station in Baton Rouge from Dec. 11. He was accompanied by a young black man whom detectives now hope to identify. The images are of two men at a convenience store at 5:30 a.m. Dec. 11.
Authorities say they might be driving a gray or silver Nissan Titan pickup with an extended cab. It has a Louisiana license plate, and investigators were able to determine a partial plate number: X68448.
Anyone with information should contact Detective John Spoor of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at (727) 582-6200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
