TAMPA - Dense fog has shrouded the Bay area this morning but hasn't affected air travelers, officials say.
The National Weather Service issued an advisory about the fog for Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties, in effect until 9 a.m.
Fog hasn't delayed any commercial arrivals or departures at Tampa International Airport or St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, airport officials say.
However, bad weather is still affecting some flights arriving from and departing for the Northeast where they've been hit with a wintery blast.
The rest of today's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, with high temperatures in the mid-70s near the coast and in the 80s inland.
Fog will return after midnight, with low temperatures in the 60s near the coast and in the 50s inland, meteorologists say. Sunday will be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid-70s.
