VALRICO - People with concerns about medical care, coverage and costs may attend a health care reform discussion at 10 a.m. today at Bloomingdale Regional Public Library.
Brandon resident Ron Hammerle volunteered to moderate the meeting after the secretary-designate of U.S. Health and Human Services, Sen. Tom Daschle, this month asked citizens in all 50 states to organize health reform discussion groups to submit concerns and ideas to his office.
Anyone who wants to organize a meeting in their area may do so through President-elect Barack Obama's Web site, www.change.gov.
"They want to hear from people whose voices are often not heard, the kind of input they don't get through special-interest lobbies," said Hammerle, who owns a health systems development company.
People will have an opportunity to answer survey questions, recount personal experiences and submit suggestions for changes to the health care system.
The library is at 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico. For information call Hammerle, (813) 352-6975.
Reporter Laura Frazier can be reached at (813) 657-4523.
