A Progress Energy employee is being treated for second-degree burns after making contact with a live electrical wire, an official said.
Ken Winkle was flown by helicopter to Tampa General Hospital after the incident in Safety Harbor about 12:30 p.m. today, said Marianne Pasha, a spokeswoman for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Winkle and a Progress Energy crew were working near the corner of Meadow Brook Drive and Union Street, Pasha said. Winkle made contact with a live electrical wire and suffered burns on the left side of his body, she said.
She had no other information on his condition or the incident.
