Accident Closes Skyway Bridge Northbound Lanes

A crash involving a utility van and another vehicle has shut down one northbound lane of the Sunshine Skyway bridge.

The crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. near mile marker 11 on the north span of the bridge in Pinellas County.

One person has been taken to Bayfront Medical Center with injuries that are not life-threatening, St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue spokesman Lt. Joel Granata said.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
