PLANT CITY - The Hillsborough County school district will hold a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 12 to discuss attendance boundaries for an elementary school scheduled to open in August near Interstate 4 and McIntosh Road.
The meeting on Bailey Elementary School's boundaries will be at the Tomlin Middle School auditorium, 501 N. Woodrow Wilson St.
Bailey Elementary, which will have a capacity for 950 students, will draw from the attendance areas of Bryan, Cork, Dover, Knights, Lopez and McDonald elementary schools, district spokeswoman Kristin Jernigan said.
Bailey Elementary is being built on the same campus as Strawberry Crest High School An attendance boundary meeting hasn't been set for that school, which is also scheduled to open in August.
Bailey Elementary was named in honor of local historian and retired educator D.E. Bailey Jr.
