Last-minute holiday shoppers have a quick route to International Plaza now that a new exit to Spruce Street opened early this morning.
Motorists from Pinellas County taking northbound Interstate 275 can exit at westbound State Road 60.
Drivers should look for the International Plaza exit and stay to the right after getting onto S.R. 60. Look for the portable electronic sign at the Spruce exit.
Motorists bound for the mall, the West Shore business district or Raymond James Stadium previously exited at Cypress Street or continued north on I-275 to a later exit.
The new configuration is part of the Department of Transportation's $110 million reconstruction of roads near Tampa International Airport.
One tip for drivers: After exiting onto Spruce, quickly merge to one of the middle lanes. The right lane soon turns into a right turn only at O'Brien Street.
