A 14-year-old boy was shot in the right hand Tuesday night at a McDonald's restaurant, Pinellas County deputies say.
The shooting occurred about 11:30 p.m. at 4147 49th St. North.
The boy and two other teenagers had walked from his home to the McDonald's, and as the three came to the door, a car pulled up and a person fired several shots at them, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office news release. No shots entered the restaurant.
Investigators are seeking two witnesses who ran to the victim after the shooting, then returned to their vehicle and left. They are white women and were in a blue or green Pontiac Firebird, deputies said. The driver is thought to have shoulder-length brown hair, and the other has long blond hair.
The 14-year-old boy was treated at an area hospital.
His name has not been released.
Anyone with information should call the sheriff's office at (727) 582-6200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 873-8477.
