Pair From Lutz Charged With Shoplifting Jewelry

Two Lutz residents shoplifted jewelry in the presence of two children Tuesday evening at Dillard's department store at University Mall, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Deputies arrested 30-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez and 28-year-old Doris Sanchez at 7:52 p.m. Each was charged with grand theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The jewelry was valued at $413.75.
Gonzalez placed the items in his jacket pocket, and he and Sanchez left the store without paying, according to the affidavit.
He later told deputies, "I'm sorry. We made an error. We did wrong," the affidavit states.
Gonzalez remained in Orient Road Jail today; Sanchez has been released. Bail for each was set at $2,500.
