TAMPA - A European-style deli and market is planning to open in the space formerly occupied by Lucky Dill Deli in downtown Tampa.
Cafe Volo will move into the storefront at Ashley Drive and Madison Street and serve breakfast, lunch and early dinners, and will also offer catering, restaurant partner Frank Bordieri said.
The restaurant and market will have a Mediterranean theme with staples from that region, including gelato, Italian pastries, sandwiches, fresh breads, oils and other food items.
Bordieri is part of the family that runs Italian Kitchen & Cafe in Riverview, which has operated for eight years. The restaurant and market is a new venture for him and business partner Joseph Zanni, Bordieri said.
The space's previous occupant, Lucky Dill, closed quickly in September after being evicted for falling behind on the rent.
