Clearwater Death Labeled Suspicious

Police are investigating how a 48-year-old man died this morning in Clearwater, but there likely won't be any updates for weeks, officers say.

Vincent Lloyd was at Palmetto Park Apartments in Clearwater when he was involved in an "altercation'' with another man at some point, police said. He was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are categorizing the death as suspicious but say it is not currently classified as a homicide.

Investigators are waiting for a report, including autopsy details, from the Medical Examiner's Office. They also are awaiting toxicology results, which could take weeks.
