Romo Should Play Against Eagles

Published: December 27, 2008

IRVING, Texas - Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo seems to be over the midweek illness that caused him to miss a day of practice.

"I think he's feeling all right now," Coach Wade Phillips said Friday. "He was maybe a little weak yesterday, but he's doing a lot better today. I think he'll be ready to go."

Romo was sent home with medicine to treat flulike symptoms Wednesday. He returned to practice Thursday, and worked out again Friday as Dallas finished preparing for a pivotal game Sunday in Philadelphia. The Cowboys (9-6) are guaranteed a playoff spot with a victory, certain to miss the playoffs with a loss.

Phillips said running back Marion Barber will remain a game-time decision because of a dislocated toe that's limited him to 2 yards on 10 carries in the last two games. He also missed the game before that. He was listed on the injury report as doubtful after being limited in practice.

Tight end Jason Witten was limited, too, because of a sprained left ankle, but is among several players listed as probable.

BEARS: Safety Mike Brown will miss the rest of the season due to a calf injury he suffered Monday night.

DOLPHINS: Linebacker Channing Crowder expects to play against the Jets on Sunday, despite a knee injury that limited his practice time this week.

GIANTS: Cornerback Aaron Ross is going to miss Sunday's game against the Vikings due to a concussion, and the Giants have listed at least four other starters as 50-50.

Tight end Kevin Boss (concussion-ankle) was listed as doubtful on the injury report and halfback Brandon Jacobs (knee), offensive tackle Kareem McKenzie (back), and defensive tackle Barry Cofield (knee) were questionable.

Ross, Boss, Jacobs and McKenzie did not practice Friday, while Cofield was limited in his participation.

PANTHERS: Carolina could be without both starting defensive tackles for Sunday's game at New Orleans, perhaps enticing the pass-happy Saints to run the ball.

Damione Lewis missed practice for a third straight day Friday with a shoulder injury and was listed as doubtful. Maake Kemoeatu practiced on a limited basis and is questionable with a sprained right ankle.

PATRIOTS: Linebacker Tedy Bruschi is expected to sit out again Sunday against Buffalo because of a knee injury, and defensive end Richard Seymour is questionable with a sore back.
